As of 16 March 2026, Bancontact's new branding is visible to consumers. Nothing changes in the way the payment method works for webshops, but it is important to use the new naming and logos correctly. Do you use a custom-built checkout or display Bancontact logos elsewhere in your webshop? If so, now is a good time to review your branding.
In this article, we explain what is changing, what Buckaroo will take care of for you, and whether there are any actions you still need to take yourself.
Bancontact is introducing a simpler and clearer visual identity. Each payment method now has its own name and corresponding logo, making it easier for consumers to recognise which payment method they are using. This creates more clarity in the checkout and contributes to a consistent payment experience.
For webshops, this is primarily a visual change. The payment methods continue to work exactly as before, but their names and associated logos have changed.
Bancontact is introducing three clearly defined payment methods, each with its own name and logo:
Bancontact Pay
For mobile payments via your banking app or the Bancontact Pay app.
Bancontact Card
For online payments made with a Bancontact debit card.
Bancontact One Click
For online payments that allow consumers to complete future purchases with a single click after an initial payment.
It is important to always use the correct name together with the corresponding logo. Do you display Bancontact logos in multiple places throughout your webshop, such as on your payment page, information pages or in the footer? If so, make sure the correct branding is used everywhere.
The impact depends on how your webshop is set up.
If so, you don't need to do anything. We will automatically update the Bancontact logos in your checkout.
We do recommend checking whether your website still displays outdated Bancontact logos or branding elsewhere. For example, on payment method overview pages, FAQs or other informational pages.
If so, you are responsible for updating the Bancontact logos and naming in your checkout. Make sure you:
All digital branding must be updated by 31 December 2026.
If you are using a plugin for your webshop, the new Bancontact logos will be included in a future plugin update. Once you update the plugin, the new logos will automatically appear in your checkout.
Please note that any Bancontact branding outside the checkout will not be updated automatically. We therefore recommend checking the rest of your website as well.
Consumers will increasingly encounter Bancontact's new branding. By using the updated names and logos in your webshop, you provide a familiar and consistent payment experience. It also ensures compliance with Bancontact's latest brand guidelines and helps prevent old and new branding from being used alongside each other.
Would you like to implement the new branding yourself? In the Bancontact Brand Portal, you will find:
the latest branding guidelines;
guidance on how to use the different logos correctly;
