Strategic partnership between Buckaroo, Payconiq International and EPI officially in effect

Utrecht, Brussels, Luxembourg - 28 January 2026 - Buckaroo, Payconiq International and the European Payments Initiative (EPI) today announce an important milestone in their strategic partnership, first announced in October 2025. Following the regulatory review, the business customers that are directly connected to Payconiq in Luxembourg have officially been moved to Buckaroo as their new payment services provider. 

For these customers Buckaroo will continue to provide the Payconiq services unchanged until the migration to Wero has been completed later in the year. In addition, they will gain access to Buckaroo’s broader payment platform and expertise. This marks a significant milestone in bringing the introduction of Wero in Luxembourg one step closer.

Through the strategic partnership between Buckaroo, EPI, and Payconiq International, merchants in Luxembourg will benefit from advanced payment technology and expertise, helping them remain competitive in an increasingly digital economy. The collaboration will also help speed up the broader adoption of Wero across the Benelux.
