Bancontact is supported by all major Belgian banks, including Belfius, BNP, Paribas Fortis, KBC Bank, ING Belgium, Axa Bank Belgium, Argenta, Crelan, vdk bank, Beobank and Record Bank.

How can I add Bancontact as a payment method in my online shop?

To add Bancontact as a payment method in your online shop, you need to enter into a Bancontact contract with Buckaroo. Buckaroo then arranges the technical link between your online shop and the Bancontact payment service.

Are there any fees for using Bancontact as a payment method?

Yes, there are fees for using Bancontact as a payment method. The service to accept it is free. A fee of €0.37 will be charged for each successful transaction.

Can I also use Bancontact for international payments?

No, Bancontact is only available for payments within Belgium (and the Netherlands) and is not suitable for international payments. For international payments, you can use PayPal, credit cards or bank transfers, for example.

What happens if a payment via Bancontact fails?

If a payment via Bancontact fails, the customer is returned to the online shop and can choose another payment method. We recommend clearly explaining in the online shop what will happen if a Bancontact payment fails, so that there are no surprises for the customer.

How long does it take to process a Bancontact payment?

A Bancontact payment is usually processed immediately and the amount is in Buckaroo's third-party account within minutes. We transfer transactions to our customers every working day.
