Buckaroo is the first payment provider in the Netherlands to offer payments with digital assets. In early 2024, a partnership was established with goSettle, a technology company that acts as a middleware platform. goSettle’s platform enables financial institutions, such as crypto exchanges and brokers, to connect to the existing payment ecosystem. When a consumer makes a payment using digital assets through this system, the connected financial institution facilitates the immediate conversion to euros. As a result, the merchant is guaranteed to receive the full amount in fiat currency. This completely removes complexity, volatility risk, and the typically high transaction costs for the seller. With this partnership, Buckaroo is responding to a future in which payments with digital assets will become increasingly common.

About goSettle
Thanks to goSettle, users can pay with a wide range of digital assets. The system enables payments to be made directly from the user’s own wallet at a connected financial institution. These digital assets may include cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USDC. The payment is initiated from the user’s trusted app, which significantly simplifies the process. Buckaroo facilitates the transactions between goSettle and any business that wants to use goSettle.

Currently, goSettle is available in the Buckaroo Smart Checkout and in the Buckaroo API. In the Buckaroo Smart Checkout, you have the default choice of showing all payment options or you can select which payment options can be used to pay per customer.
If you are using our API, you will need to adapt your technical integration to use goSettle.
For plugins, Magento 2 will support goSettle very soon. For other plugins, goSettle will be made available if there is sufficient demand.
Are there any additional costs or fees associated with accepting cryptocurrency payments through Buckaroo?
No, there are no additional costs involved.
Is there a maximum limit for the amount that customers can pay with cryptocurrency in my webshop?
Yes, consumers can make a maximum of € 10.000 in payments per month.
What happens if technical problems occur with the cryptocurrency payment option in my webshop?
Buckaroo customer service is available during working hours to help with any problems you may encounter.
Are cryptocurrency transactions processed in the same way as traditional payments for refunds or cancellations?
