Bomont has been a fashion specialist for 25 years. They operate 12 stores in the Netherlands (mainly in Zeeland) and run a successful webshop. Their wide range of more than 150 brands is, according to them, their biggest strength. Both tourists and local consumers are loyal fans. COO Nawish Baars: "For some customers, we are also a gift shop; very few people leave without taking something with them."
At the end of 2021, Bomont’s webshop switched to a new e-commerce platform: Shopware 6. Payments are processed via the Buckaroo Payment Plugin, specially developed for Shopware 6.
“We have many enthusiastic customers who love to experience the atmosphere and get inspired in our physical stores,” continues Baars. “Online, you also need to inspire your customers. We are already doing that, but it can certainly be improved. That’s why we are busy developing a new webshop platform, where we will focus much more on customer experience. Think of shop-the-look suggestions or visualizing products through video. For this purpose, a brand-new film studio is currently being installed at our headquarters, where we will work with models.”
Baars is convinced that the new platform and the in-house film studio will provide plenty of opportunities to inspire customers with the latest fashion trends. Social media also plays an important role in this, according to him. “Over the past thirty years, we have always continued to invest in growth and development. For example, we regularly update the entire store inventory and brand portfolio. This way, we are constantly looking for ways to improve.”
The wide range of more than 150 brands is Bomont’s greatest strength. Baars: “Because we want to convey a certain style, we don’t buy the entire collection from many brands, but instead select specific items to create a well-curated assortment. What also makes us unique is the combination of stores in tourist areas and larger cities. This allows us to serve a broad customer base with different shopping intentions. While tourists really come for fun shopping, customers in the surrounding area shop more functionally. And then we have our webshop, where we also serve a very diverse clientele.”
The Bomont webshop uses a multi-paid checkout. During the fashion season, iDEAL is the preferred payment method. During sales periods, pay-later methods are also frequently used.
Nawish Baars: “For us, it is a great added value that our payment partner Buckaroo has already integrated all the payment methods our customers want into one platform. Customers also benefit from this, because if something comes up, we can respond quickly.”
Bomont also makes use of a loyalty program. Customers receive five percent of their spending in the form of a voucher once they reach one hundred euros. “We send these twice a year by post, and they can be redeemed both online and in-store. For people, it really feels like a little gift that arrives in their mailbox.”
One of Bomont's biggest wishes for the new platform: plenty of opportunities in the area of unique content creation. Bomont will inspire its customers through creative landing pages, “shop the look,” promotions, and blog posts. Thanks to the advanced user-friendliness of Shopware, they will soon be able to easily create unique experiences themselves with the help of the Shopping Experiences module.
Sander Hobbel, account manager at web agency XSARUS: "Shopware 6 is a new, fresh platform where custom development can also be implemented well." Sander highlights features such as content, user experience, and a very user-friendly admin. Product pages can be created quickly and managed easily. In addition, different styles can be applied at category and product level.
"When considering a possible switch to Shopware, make sure it is functionally sufficient and explore all the great features Shopware has to offer, such as the Rule Builder and the Flow Builder." At Bomont, XSARUS has added further omnichannel functionality with their own TableTop modules.
