In 2025, Buckaroo celebrates a special milestone: 20 years as a trusted partner in payment solutions. Two decades in which technology and e-commerce evolved rapidly — and during which we have grown alongside our clients. Behind every transaction and every technological advancement lies something just as important: our people. Because attention isn’t just embedded in our products — it’s especially present in how we work together.
In this anniversary year, we take the time to highlight the people who make Buckaroo what it is. Their stories show how we bring our slogan paying attention to life every single day. In this edition, we speak with Chantal, Head of HR. She shares how culture, growth, and care go hand in hand within our organization.
Chantal has been working at Buckaroo for over nine years. She is responsible for HR and facilities. In our conversation, she explains what makes her role so special: ''I love seeing people grow within our organization. We place a lot of focus on internal development and try to offer opportunities whenever we can. Because you’re really working with people, it’s incredibly varied,'' Chantal says enthusiastically.
A key pillar of Buckaroo’s international growth strategy is building strong collaboration between teams — and the team in Kosovo plays a vital role in this. ''We were struggling to find IT specialists in the Netherlands, so we started researching which countries offer a strong ecosystem for tech talent. That’s how we landed in Kosovo''.
In just a year and a half, a completely new team was built there — now consisting of 55 employees. Chantal: ''An impressive milestone, especially when you consider we started from scratch''. The team is now fully integrated and contributes significantly to Buckaroo’s technological innovation and international ambitions. That rapid growth and smooth cooperation are no coincidence — they are the result of a culture built on genuine care for people.
Care for people — whether colleagues in the Netherlands or in our new team in Kosovo — forms the foundation of a culture where collaboration and growth can thrive. But what does paying attention really mean?
For Chantal, it’s at the heart of being a good employer: creating a safe, inclusive, and positive work environment where people feel seen, heard, and appreciated. ''It’s about colleagues feeling like they matter,'' she says. ''That their concerns are taken seriously and their ideas are welcome. Sometimes that’s through big initiatives like development opportunities or process improvements, but more often it’s in the small gestures — an open conversation, a thank you, or simply offering a listening ear at the right moment. To me, that’s the essence of paying attention''.
